Growing your business can be rough, especially if you are a new business. Although there are many information out there that entice the entrepreneur to do this and do that, one key thing is certain: you need to generate leads quickly, because this is crucial to rocking your business. While this may not be a step by step sales growth formula, it is a concrete area to focus on, because with out quality leads, you are going to be hard pressed to find customers. Without customers, you may as well throw in the towel, right?

So, we need customers and we need quality leads in order to realize a high conversion rate, but how do we go about finding good leads? One of the most effective ways is inbound marketing. Getting leads can be as simple as buying an email list, but is that list really valuable. Assuming that everyone in the list actually meets your target demographic, there is still the matter of whether or not they want your product or service. Depending on how long products and services in your field last, it could be 15 years before they need to buy again. Furthermore, people have a tendency to disregard spam emails.

People usually prefer to research what they are looking for and decide on a few final companies to begin the final stages of the buying process. Let’s face it, if you are like me, you have a tendency to go to Google to answer your questions. I may take note of other companies and what they offer and it can have an impact on my buying decisions, but I usually still want to go and do my own research.

When people find you online, they are more likely to be more invested in discovering more Partially, this is because they are not being pitched to and they have invested time finding you and researching something they need In essence, they are pitching you to themselves instead of you pitching to them. Who’s opinion of you do you think they value more, yours or their own?

This difference in a prospect’s openness is an amazing factor when coupled with strong inbound marketing campaigns. Getting buy-in is one of the most crucial factors in the sales process. With inbound, you get a higher level of buy-in at an early stage of the buyer’s journey. Having a moderate to high level of buy-in early will affect every stage after that (usually in your favor).

If you are thinking what many other companies have been thinking, you need an inbound marketing strategy within your business.
